Version 2 · Last updated: 20 October 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. The binding version is the Portuguese one (Conditions for professionals); if the two differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
These conditions apply to anyone who provides services through the MimoSpot platform (mimospot.com) as a professional. They supplement the Terms and conditions and the Privacy policy. You must accept them to sign up as a professional; the version and date of your acceptance are recorded in your account.
1. You are an independent service provider
- You provide the services in your own name, on your own account and at your own risk, as a self-employed worker or a company. You are not an employee, worker, agent or representative of MimoSpot, and these conditions do not create any employment contract, partnership or agency.
- You are free to decide whether to accept each request, when you work, which services you offer and what prices you charge. You have no set hours, no exclusivity and no minimum number of services, and you may work outside MimoSpot.
- You use your own equipment, tools and materials, and organise your work as you see fit, respecting what was agreed with the customer.
- MimoSpot is an intermediation platform: it connects you with customers and manages the booking, payment and support. The contract for the service is made between you and the customer.
2. Sign-up and verification
- To be approved you must send: an identity document, proof of registration as self-employed (início de atividade), proof of tax address and a Portuguese criminal record certificate.
- The documents and details must be true, legible and valid. If any of them ceases to be valid, you must send the new one before continuing to accept bookings.
- Consent: by sending your identity document and criminal record certificate, you authorise MimoSpot to keep a copy solely to verify your identity and the absence of any record incompatible with home services. These two documents are stored encrypted and automatically deleted 30 days after your profile is approved (or 30 days after your application is declined). Only the record that they were checked, when and by whom is kept.
- The photos you send (including photos of documents) are stored without metadata: we automatically remove the GPS location, the date and time and the phone model. If your application is declined, all documents sent are deleted 30 days after the decision.
- MimoSpot may approve or decline an application, ask for additional documents and ask again for updated documents. False documents lead to the application being declined or the account being closed immediately.
3. Insurance
- Workers’ accident insurance (compulsory): as a self-employed worker, the law requires you to have workers’ accident insurance (Decree-Law no. 159/99). You are responsible for taking it out and keeping it valid while you are on MimoSpot. When signing up you declare that you are aware of this obligation, and MimoSpot may ask for proof at any time. If you have a company with employees, every person who carries out services must be covered.
- Public liability insurance: you undertake to have public liability insurance covering damage caused to customers or third parties during the services, and specific insurance whenever the law requires it for your activity (for example, electrical or gas installations). MimoSpot may ask for proof at any time.
- MimoSpot does not take out insurance on your behalf and is not an insurer: your personal accidents and the damage you cause are covered by your own insurance.
4. Liability
- You are solely responsible for carrying out the service, its quality, compliance with safety rules and any damage you cause to the customer, the customer’s home or third parties.
- MimoSpot is not liable for accidents or injuries you suffer while travelling or providing the service, or for damage to your equipment, except where they result from wilful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of MimoSpot itself.
- If MimoSpot is required to pay compensation, a fine or a refund because of something attributable to you (for example, damage caused during a service or lack of insurance), you undertake to reimburse that amount. MimoSpot may deduct it from amounts it has to transfer to you, after informing you.
- MimoSpot’s liability towards you is limited to the operation of the platform and the transfer of the amounts due to you, without prejudice to cases where the law does not allow such a limitation.
5. Tax and legal obligations
- You must be registered as self-employed with the Tax Authority (Finanças), issue the invoice or invoice-receipt for each service to the customer and meet your tax obligations (IRS/IRC, and VAT where applicable) and Social Security obligations.
- Qualifications and certifications: you take full responsibility for meeting the legal and professional requirements for each job you carry out, including training, qualifications, certifications, licences and registration with the applicable professional bodies or regulators (for example, for electrical, gas or air-conditioning installations). You may only offer and accept services for which you are legally qualified and technically prepared.
- The check carried out by MimoSpot at sign-up covers identity, business activity, tax address and criminal record. MimoSpot does not certify each professional’s technical qualifications, but may ask for proof of them at any time and remove from your profile any services for which you do not provide it.
6. Commission and payments
- The prices and travel fee you set are the final prices for the customer, including VAT if your activity is subject to VAT. Each service has a fixed price and an expected duration (from 30 minutes to 8 hours), both set by you. The customer cannot change either of them. Your calendar is blocked for the stated duration, plus a 30-minute margin between services. The minimum amount for each service is €20.
- MimoSpot charges a 20% commission on the total amount of each service paid through the platform, including travel. This commission goes down with your status (see the next point). Each booking uses the commission in force at the time the booking is made. The commission is invoiced by MimoSpot to the professional monthly, and the invoices are available in your Earnings area.
- Bronze, Silver and Gold status. Your status depends on your accumulated turnover on MimoSpot, that is, the value of services completed and paid through the platform, including travel and minus refunds: Bronze from €1,000 (18% commission), Silver from €3,000 (16%) and Gold from €6,000 (14%). All turnover since the start counts, however long you take to reach each level. To keep your status you must turn over at least €1,000 in each 6-month period; if you do not, you drop one level (never more than one at a time) and move back up with another €1,000 of turnover. We let you know one month before the end of each period. Your status appears as a badge on your profile and in search results and does not change the order of results. MimoSpot may temporarily award a status (for example, during campaigns) and may revise the levels and percentages with 30 days’ notice, without affecting bookings already made.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. To get paid, you must activate your Stripe payments account and meet Stripe’s conditions.
- The remaining amount (between 80% and 86%, depending on your status) is transferred to your account when the customer confirms that the service went well (or when the period for reporting problems ends). If the customer reports a problem, the amount is held until the case is resolved. Stripe then sends the amount to your bank account, usually within a few business days, depending on Stripe’s and your bank’s timescales.
- In the event of a cancellation or complaint, the refund rules in the Terms and conditions apply. If the customer is refunded, the corresponding amount is not transferred to you.
- You may not request or accept payments outside MimoSpot for services for customers you met through the platform.
7. Bookings and conduct
- Reply to requests within the period shown. An accepted booking is a commitment: arrive at the agreed time and let the customer know through the platform if you are running late.
- When you indicate that you are on your way, you can share your location so the customer can follow you on the map. This is optional, only the customer for that booking can see it, and sharing stops when you arrive or tap “Stop sharing”.
- Cancellations by you give the customer a full refund and put a warning on your account. With 3 cancellations in 90 days, the account may be suspended.
- Treat customers with respect and take care of their home and belongings. No abusive, discriminatory or harassing behaviour is allowed.
- Use customers’ details (name, address, contact) only to provide the booked service and issue the invoice. Do not keep them or use them for other purposes.
- Reviews follow the review rules. Asking for or offering anything in return for reviews is not allowed.
- Do not provide services under the influence of alcohol or substances that affect your ability, and follow the health and safety at work rules that apply to each service.
- 14-day guarantee. The services you provide through MimoSpot have a 14-day guarantee from completion, under the Terms and conditions. If the customer reports a defect covered by the guarantee, or if MimoSpot concludes that the service was not carried out properly, you must come back and fix the work at no additional cost, on a date agreed with the customer and, unless otherwise agreed with them, within a maximum of 7 days from the request. If you do not, MimoSpot may refund the customer or ask another professional to fix the work and deduct that amount from the transfers it has to make to you (see point 4). The guarantee does not cover materials or parts supplied by the customer, or those you sell directly to the customer, which follow the legal rules on the sale of goods.
How the order in search results is set
- Results only show approved professionals who offer the requested service and whose work area includes the customer’s address.
- The order is calculated automatically using these criteria, in this order of importance: 1) the distance to the customer’s address (in 1 km bands); 2) the MimoSpot ranking, which combines the average customer rating (weighted by the number of reviews), experience on the platform (services completed) and a penalty for cancellations made by the professional; 3) the nearest available time slot.
- The Bronze, Silver, Gold and TOP badges do not change the order. It is not possible to pay for a better position.
8. Suspension and termination
- You can delete your account at any time in the professional area. Bookings already accepted must be carried out or cancelled through the platform.
- MimoSpot may suspend or close the account in the event of false or expired documents, lack of compulsory insurance, breach of these conditions, fraud, payments outside the platform, serious or repeated complaints, persistently negative reviews or repeated cancellations. Whenever possible, we warn you beforehand and explain the reason.
- Except in serious cases (for example, fraud, false documents, risk to customers’ safety or breach of the law), we give you at least 30 days’ notice before permanently closing the account. In any suspension or closure, we explain the reason to you in writing and you can challenge the decision at profissionais@mimospot.com.
- Amounts already due for completed services are transferred on the normal terms, unless there are complaints or amounts to be reimbursed to MimoSpot.
9. Data protection
How MimoSpot processes your data is described in the Privacy policy. For customer data that you use to issue invoices or to contact customers on your own account outside the platform, you are responsible for its processing under the GDPR.
10. Final provisions
- MimoSpot may change these conditions. Important changes are announced at least 15 days in advance by email or in your professional area. If you do not agree, you can close your account before they come into force.
- If any clause is held to be invalid, the remaining clauses remain in force.
- Complaints from professionals: write to profissionais@mimospot.com. We review and reply within a maximum of 15 business days.
- These conditions are governed by Portuguese law. For any question: profissionais@mimospot.com.
- Language. These conditions are drawn up in Portuguese. Translations into other languages are provided for convenience only; if there is any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
