This English version is provided for convenience. The binding version is the Portuguese one (Cookie policy); if the two differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the mimospot.com website and in the MimoSpot apps (customer, professional and back office), what they are for and how the Visitor can manage them. It complements the Privacy policy. Capitalised words (MimoSpot, Platform, Customer, Professional, User and Visitor) have the meaning defined in the Terms and conditions and in the Privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in the Visitor's browser to remember information between pages or visits, such as the fact that the User is signed in. Browser local storage and session storage work in a similar way, but the information stays only on the Visitor's device and is not automatically sent to the server.
2. What MimoSpot uses and the Visitor's choice
MimoSpot does not use advertising, analytics or social media cookies, and does not track the Visitor's browsing on other websites. It only uses the cookies and storage needed for the website to work, for the User to stay signed in and for payments to be secure. Necessary cookies do not require consent, because without them the requested service would not work (Article 5 of Law no. 41/2004). Preferences are optional and are only saved if the Visitor accepts them.
On the first visit, the website shows a window where the Visitor can accept all, reject optional ones or customise their choice. The Visitor can change it at any time in Cookie settings (also in the website footer). The choice is kept for 6 months; after that, the website asks again. If the Visitor refuses, any preferences already saved are deleted.
3. Cookies used
| Cookie | What for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie | Keeping the User signed in and protecting the session | Until signing out (max. 14 days) |
| tt_etapa*_token | Saving the progress of the Professional's registration | Until the step is completed |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid (Stripe) | Payment fraud prevention, set by Stripe at checkout | Up to 1 year / 30 minutes |
| tt_consent | Saving the Visitor's cookie choice | 6 months |
| tt_lang | Saving the language chosen in the selector (PT / EN) | 1 year |
| tt_acesso | Allowing the MimoSpot team to see the website during maintenance periods | 90 days |
4. Storage in the browser and in the app
Items marked as Preferences are optional and are only saved if the Visitor accepts them. The others are necessary.
| What | What for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Local storage (help chat) | Continuing the help chat conversation. The name given in the chat is only remembered if the Visitor accepts Preferences. | Until the Visitor clears the browser data |
| Local storage (Preferences, optional) | Remembering the last search and whether the Visitor has already installed or declined to install the app | Until the Visitor clears the browser data |
| Local storage (saved registration) | Saving the data of a Professional's registration that they chose to save to continue later at the same step. It does not include passwords, tax number, IBAN, date of birth or documents. | 7 days, or until the registration is completed |
| Session storage | Not losing what was typed in a form if the page reloads, and confirming the mobile number by SMS | Until the tab is closed |
| App cache (service worker) | Opening the app faster and showing a notice page when there is no connection | Until the app is uninstalled or the data is cleared |
| Notification subscription | Sending the User notifications about their Bookings, only if they turn them on | Until the User turns them off |
5. Third-party services the browser contacts
To show some parts of the website, the Visitor's browser connects directly to these services, which receive the Visitor's IP address and may apply their own policies:
- Stripe (js.stripe.com): secure payment form, only at the Customer's checkout and when Professionals activate payments.
- OpenStreetMap: map images, for example for the Customer to follow the Professional on their way.
- jsDelivr, cdnjs and Unsplash: code libraries and images. Fonts are hosted on the website itself.
6. How to manage or delete them
- The Visitor can view, block or delete cookies and stored data in their browser settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”).
- If the Visitor blocks necessary cookies, they will not be able to sign in or make payments.
- When signing out, session cookies are deleted. When the app is uninstalled, the app cache and notifications are removed.
7. Changes and contact
MimoSpot updates this policy when the cookies used change. The date at the top shows the latest version. For any question: clientes@mimospot.com.
