This English version is provided for convenience. The binding version is the Portuguese one (Cookie policy); if the two differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the mimospot.com site and in the MimoSpot apps (customer, professional and back office), what they are for and how you can manage them. It supplements the Privacy policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a site stores in your browser to remember information between pages or visits, such as the fact that you are signed in. Browser local storage and session storage work in a similar way, but the information stays only on your device and is not sent automatically to the server.
2. What we use and your choice
MimoSpot does not use advertising, analytics or social media cookies, and does not track your browsing on other sites. We only use the cookies and storage needed for the site to work, for you to stay signed in and for payments to be secure. Necessary cookies do not require consent, because without them the service you ask for does not work (Article 5 of Law no. 41/2004). Preferences are optional and are only stored if you accept them.
On your first visit we show a window where you can accept all, reject optional ones or customise your choice. You can change it at any time in Cookie settings (also in the site footer). Your choice is kept for 6 months; after that we ask again. If you refuse, we delete any preferences already stored.
3. Cookies used
| Cookie | What for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*, wordpress_test_cookie | Keeping you signed in and protecting your session | Until you sign out (max. 14 days) |
| tt_etapa*_token | Saving the progress of a professional sign-up | Until you complete the step |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid (Stripe) | Payment fraud prevention, set by Stripe at checkout | Up to 1 year / 30 minutes |
| tt_consent | Saving your cookie choice | 6 months |
| tt_lang | Saving the language you chose in the selector (PT / EN) | 1 year |
| tt_acesso | Allowing the team to view the site during maintenance periods | 90 days |
4. Storage in the browser and the app
Items marked as Preferences are optional and only stored if you accept them. The others are necessary.
| What | What for | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Local storage (help chat) | Continuing the help chat conversation. The name you gave is only remembered if you accept Preferences. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Local storage (Preferences, optional) | Remembering your last search and whether you have already installed or declined to install the app | Until you clear your browser data |
| Local storage (saved sign-up) | Keeping the details of a sign-up you chose to save, so you can continue later from the same step. It does not include passwords, tax number, IBAN, date of birth or documents. | 7 days, or until you complete the sign-up |
| Session storage | So you don’t lose what you typed in a form if the page reloads, and to confirm your mobile number by SMS | Until you close the tab |
| App cache (service worker) | Opening the app faster and showing a notice page when there is no connection | Until you uninstall the app or clear its data |
| Notification subscription | Sending you notifications about your bookings, only if you turn them on | Until you turn them off |
5. Third-party services your browser contacts
To show some parts of the site, your browser connects directly to these services, which receive your IP address and may apply their own policies:
- Stripe (js.stripe.com): secure payment form, only at checkout and when professionals activate payments.
- OpenStreetMap: map images, for example to follow the professional on their way.
- Google Fonts, jsDelivr, cdnjs and Unsplash: fonts, code libraries and images.
6. How to manage or delete them
- You can view, block or delete cookies and stored data in your browser settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Site data”).
- If you block necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in or make payments.
- When you sign out, session cookies are deleted. When you uninstall the app, the app’s cache and notifications are removed.
7. Changes and contact
We update this policy when the cookies used change. The date at the top shows the latest version. For any question: clientes@mimospot.com.
